For a little more adventure, head over to the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve. Walk along the boardwalk to take in the view, keeping your eyes peels for all types of animals, including alligators and a variety of birds. For even more excitement, consider taking any one of tours available in the Everglades area.
With busier cities in the area, Fort Myers offers a more laid back and relaxing atmosphere. The summers, usually lasting from June to September, are going to be hot and humid with a certain amount of rain. On the other hand, winters are long, but temperatures linger in the high 50s to 60s.
