The City by the Bay is a great place for a vacation, with so many interesting things for its visitors to see and do. However, this metropolitan city is easier to get around in if you have your own vehicle. You can easily arrange to pick up a rental car at the San Francisco International Airport (SFO). After such a long flight, you might enjoy visiting Union Square to catch the real vibe of the city. You'll also want to visit the Japanese Tea Gardens to view some gorgeous, Japanese-inspired gardens, as well as to enjoy some authentic green tea.
At Coit Tower, in the Telegraph Hill neighborhood of the city, you can ride up to the observation deck to get great views of the city. During the Great Depression, this tower was the recipient of one of the Public Works of Art projects. In the atrium, you can view murals of what city life was like in the 1930s. You should plan to spend a day at the Golden Gate Park where you'll find the San Francisco Botanical Gardens.
When you catch a flight to San Francisco from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), you can expect to be in the air for around three and a half hours.
