San Francisco is one of America's most romantic cities, and weekend lovebirds flying to San Francisco International Airport (SFO), will find plenty of things to make the weekend magical. The Marin Headlands and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, are a nature lover's dream. It is easy to spend hours in these locations, admiring the rugged San Francisco coastline, and the amazing downtown skyline. Travelers will also enjoy an afternoon spent at the California Academy of Sciences, or the Fort Point National Historic Site.
Shoppers will find their outlet with a trip to Fisherman's Wharf. In addition to having some good shopping, the area is also home to many of San Francisco's top restaurants. Diners will have spectacular ocean views from this beautiful location, try Alioto’s for a taste of the ocean with an Italian twist.
Getting to the downtown area is easiest from Interstate 80, although traffic is always a concern, especially when you are on the bridge that connects San Francisco to Oakland. Once you are in the city, it can be tough to find parking in the downtown area. Travelers may want to plan to spend time on foot in the city.
Just under two hours is roughly the amount of time a passenger should expect to spend in the air between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and San Francisco.
