Site of landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz; San Francisco is the biggest tourist magnet on the West coast. No matter whether you want to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Golden Gate Park and its stunning views of the bay, or the city's busy nightlife; there's something for everyone here. San Francisco also boasts several major museums that are well worth a visit, as well as a rich history that is best explored through one of the many walking tours offered.
San Francisco's climate is mild, but even summer days can quickly turn cold and damp; travelers are advised to bring rain gear with them at all times of year. Visitors can book hotels in all parts of the city, though having one with a view of the bay is recommended.
