Spend some time strolling through Old Sacramento. This area on the Sacramento River is a throwback to the Sacramento of days gone by. It houses five museums and an assortment of restaurants, so plan a full day. If you have kids with you, visit Fairytale Town. At this site, children can imagine themselves as princes and princesses, and can act out their favorite fairy tales in fanciful sets. End your visit with a tour of the Sacramento Zoo; it’s relatively small compared to others around the country so it is easily toured, even for the most distractible youngsters.
