Chicago's O'Hare International Airport (ORD) is a great entry point to the United States because it places you within an hour's drive of the Windy City. You can rent a car at the airport and drive out to Navy Pier where restaurants like Harry Caray’s Tavern, shops, roller coasters and many other entertainment options come together.
If you want to enjoy outdoor concerts in the summer, or a public ice skating rink in the winter, then you should head to Millennium Park. To view one of the largest fountains in the world, visit Buckingham Memorial Fountain, which is located at Congress Parkway and Columbus Drive.
I-90 East is your direct route from O'Hare International Airport to most of the attractions in and around Chicago. I-294 is also close to the airport and will take you towards Des Plaines to the north, and Berkeley to the south. These smaller towns offer affordable restaurant, hotel and casino options.
It will take you between four and six hours to fly from Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) to O'Hare. Upon arrival at ORD, make your way to the lower level of your terminal, and find the baggage claim area. Once you collect your bags, hop on a convenient shuttle to reach the rental car area.
