An Experienced Legend
Conan O’Brien was born in Brookline, Massachusetts on April 18, 1963. After graduating from high school, O’Brien attended Harvard University where he majored in history and literature. During his time at Harvard he was the editor and later president of the Harvard Lampoon, the university’s humor magazine. After graduating from Harvard in 1985 he moved out to Los Angeles where he began working as a member of the writing team for HBO. In 1988 he was hired to be a writer for Saturday Night Live, and later in 1989 he and his coworkers would receive an Emmy award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy or Variety Series. During his time with Saturday Night Live he would often appear as an extra, working alongside the likes of Tom Hanks and Adam West. In 1991 O’Brien had quit his job but not long after was offered a job as a writer for the television series The Simpsons. After only two years as a writer for The Simpsons, he was offered the position of host for Late Night. O’Brien would host the show up until 2009 when he accepted the hosting position of The Tonight Show.
In 2010 Conan came off the television screen and worked his way to the stage. He announced that he would be going on a thirty-city tour entitled “The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour.” Eight years later in the fall of 2018, O’Brien announced that he would once again be going on tour around North America. The “Team Coco Presents Conan & Friends: An Evening of Stand-Up and Investment Tips” tour began on November 2nd and went through December 15th, with stops in Detroit, Seattle, Vancouver and Boston.
