Blazing a new trail in folk rock
Growing up in Georgia, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers began to collaborate together while they were still in high school. They started to play as the Indigo Girls while they were in college, regularly performing at local venues. They released their debut album in 1987, signing with Epic Records the following year. With their single "Closer to Fine," the Indigo Girls brushed success. They were cemented as rising stars in 1990 when they snagged the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album. Recording prolifically for nearly thirty years, the Indigo Girls still produce fresh music, rich in emotion and imagery. Amy Ray and Emily Saliers are also strong political activists, championing for environmentalism, LGBT rights, Native American rights, and an end to the death penalty.
The Indigo Girls have drawn a fiercely loyal fan base from all around the world, a legion of listeners who are quick to snatch up cheap tickets. Get your cheap Indigo Girls tickets here for an unforgettable evening experiencing these folk rock icons live!
