We were disappointed with the standard of the rooms at the Milner which are not adequate for the high price they charge. We'd booked a two night stay for £365 which is a lot of money for us. We had to change rooms twice over the course of a 2 night stay which felt awkward and disruptive. The first room we were given was dark, overlooked a road and didn't have basic facilities like chairs/adequate tea facilities (they were in a cupboard with no logical place to set up the kettle) the room also smelled overwhelmingly of mildew so we asked for it to be looked into. The staff were great and said that maintenance needed to deal with it so they would move us to an alternative room. However the room they moved us to was an accessible room which we specifically did not want - they said they had nothing else available that night but would move us again the next day. The room was not functional for us due to it's accessible features - the sink was too low down and narrow, the shower was awkward to use with the accessibility features and meant we couldn't go back in after using the shower because the floor was completely wet. There was also no bedside table on one side and instead the side of the bed was right up against a cupboard. Also a substantial gap under the door which did compromised privacy. Again the tea facilities and seats were lacking. On the final day we were moved to a room upstairs which was marginally better although the decor was stained and dated.
