Detroit Wayne County Airport (DTW) is located in the Romulus suburb of Detroit, Michigan. To reach the airport from downtown Detroit, one must drive 25 minutes on the I-94 or the I-75 N. Typical flight times are about four hours long to Salt Lake City International (SLC). Salt Lake City is found 7-and-a-half miles east of the airport via I-80. Taxis, rental cars and shared-ride vans are available from representatives of a number of companies in each arrival terminal.
Salt Lake City lies in the Salt Lake Valley surrounded by mountains. The Hogle Zoo in the east of the city offers an affordable way to see elephants and primates up close. A 10-minute drive outside of the city, the Red Butte Gardens and the City Creek Canyon provide hiking and mountain bike trails. The Family History Museum contains the largest collection of genealogical information in the world and allows you to search your ancestor's roots free of charge.
Salt Lake City has a varied climate because of its high elevation. The summers are very hot and dry; the winters are very cold and snowy. There are many different hotel options throughout the city, ranging in quality and price, so travelers need not worry about finding accommodations to fit their budget.
