First, let me say this is a very nice unit. It is a converted basement, quite common for this area as we have stayed in several. Our first problem was with the access code to get in. We arrived from the east coast around 11:30 PM, so for us it was 2:30 AM. We followed the entry instructions for entering the 4 digit code and pressing enter. It didn't work, so after several tries we messaged on VRBO. This is a property with a 3rd party manager so you are not communicating with the owner. He told us several time we must have entered the code wrong, and that we should NOT press enter, and that the lock would take time to reset. We waited, tried again, and it still didn't work. He said he was 30 minutes away so we'd have to wait for him. A while later he messaged that he was able to obtain the location of a hidden key from the owner, appently who was traveling in Europe. This got us in.The next problem was the heat was set to about 60 degrees and there was no thermostat in the unit. The manager to use the portable electric space heater but it was labeled with instructions to only use it in the bedroom. Not much help for heating the living area or bathroom. The next day the manager sent us a new code to try, which did work, and you did have to press enter. Finally, beware there is a long set of stairs from the street level which have no hand railing, and there is a large area in the unit with cieling height of under 6'.So, wait to get in, then duck and shiver!
