We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn in Monterey. The location is excellent—very close to Cannery Row and easy to walk to many shops and restaurants. The breakfast was better than expected, with fresh eggs, potatoes, pancakes, bacon, and sausage, along with the usual breads, muffins, and fruit. Our room faced the street, so it was a bit noisy, and there was a slight chemical smell in the room. Other than that, it was a great hotel and we would definitely stay here again.
