About Primus
With an ear-bending blend of thrash, heavy metal, and funk, Primus became a flashpoint in the 1990's alternative rock scene. Legends for blazing their own trail, cheap Primus tickets are quickly snatched up by fans who have been devoted since their inception. Snag yours here before the show sells out!
From the Local Circuit to Cult Status
Started in El Sobrante in 1984, Primus funded their first EP by selling lead singerLes Claypool's car off. Primus built a devoted local fan base, snowballing in popularity until a label finally took notice of them. They released their first album with Interscope Records, Sailing the Seas of Cheese, in 1991, and toured with superstars like Rush, U2, Anthrax, and Public Enemy. Their frenetic live shows became infamous, including their Woodstock appearance – where fans threw mud at the musicians during the performance of "My Name is Mud." Primus changed pop culture forever when they were asked to write the theme song for South Park. In 2000 the group went on hiatus, but three years later they were back together, touring at the same fever pitch as before. In 2011 they returned to their musical roots, their new studio release Green Naugahyde harkening back to the thrash energy of their debut, Frizzle Fry.
Style
Primus’s style can be considered a wide variety. This includes being categorized as experimental rock, alternative metal, alternative rock, funk rock, funk metal, and progressive rock. Rather than allowing these classifications to put them in a box, they find a way to entertain all of them through their music. They have been accredited for being the source of inspiration to many other bands such as Incubus, Korn, and Deftones. Primus sets themselves apart from the rest by incorporating featured extended solos and improvisation during their live performances.
2019 Tour
Primus accompanied Slayer during their farewell tour. Fans were thrilled to hear their incredible live music in addition to seeing a legendary band play for the last time. Ministry and Philip H. Anselmo also tagged along to this final tour. Cities included on this tour were Springfield, MA, New York, NY, Las Vegas, NV, and more. This concert was a special treat with four bands that fans did not want to miss.
2021 'A Tribute to Kings' Tour
Primus embarked on a three-month-long tour in honor of the classic Rush album, A Farewell to Kings, playing the album in it's entirety. Special guests on the tour included the hard rock, hit single makers Wolfmother, along with stoner rock fan favorites, The Sword. The crushing rock tour spanned the U.S., beginning in Boise, ID on August 10th and ending in Phoenix, AZ on October 25th. Besides hitting the big cities of New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, the most attended Primus tour date was at Bonnaroo 2021.
Primus concerts are one-of-a-kind, dizzyingly delightful with visual effects, rocking jam sessions, and Claypool occasionally playing the Whamola. Cheap Primus tickets sell fast as fans scramble to get their hands on them. Pick up your cheap tickets today to submerge yourself in this mind-bending concert!
