James M. Cox-Dayton Municipal Airport (DAY) is 12.5 miles or 15 minutes away from downtown Dayton, in Montgomery County, Ohio. The airport is reachable via I-75. Flights to Los Angeles International (LAX) depart several times a day. Flights usually last for between six and eight hours depending on the route taken. Downtown Los Angeles is 27 minutes or 18.8 miles away from the airport via I-105 East or I-110 North. There are rental cars, airport shuttles and taxis available for transport to LA at the inner curb of the airport.
Los Angeles is surrounded by vast mountains inland and beautiful beaches on the coast of Pacific Ocean. Venice Beach, Long Beach and Santa Monica Beach offer splendid ocean sights and water activities. The city, together with the two nearby cities of Anaheim and San Diego, is also home to world-famous theme parks including Universal Studio, LEGOLAND San Diego and, of course, Disneyland and California Adventure.
With a dry summer and rainy winter season, Los Angeles' climate is classified as Mediterranean. The daytime temperature can vary as much as 36 degrees. It is best to be prepared for the fluctuating temperature by bringing a light sweater. Downtown Los Angeles is considered the most reasonably priced place to stay with easy access to public transportation.
