Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) is the main airport serving the Beijing area and it is located about 20 miles northeast of the city center. To get to PEK you can use rail, bus, taxi or car, and if driving by road, you’ll probably use the 5th Ring Road or the Jingcheng Expressway.

Typical flight times are about 13 hours in duration to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD, which is very close to major Interstate routes 90, 290 and 294 for easy transportation around the area.

For culture enthusiasts, the Lyric Opera of Chicago regularly stages world-class operas, and Shakespeare Theater has a permanent facility at the Navy Pier. Lincoln Park is the biggest area of greenspace in Chicago, being comprised of six miles of acreage along the edge of Lake Michigan.

Winter weather in Chicago is often cold and windy, being so near Lake Michigan, so be prepared for frigid temperatures just in case. Summertime sees temperatures soar into the 80s and higher, with humidity often very much in the air.
