Riding the new wave to stardom
Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith had been friends since their teenage years. Together, they played with the bands Neon and Graduate before breaking away to form their own group. Tears for Fears started to gain traction with their third single, "Mad World." In 1983 they released their debut album, showcasing their new wave synthesizer sound and emotional, sometimes cynical lyrics. Despite the success of the album, Tears for Fears started to move away from the syntho-heavy sound to more mainstream pop. Their sophomore album, Songs from the Big Chair, featured several hit singles, including "Shout" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World." In 1991 Tears for Fears fell apart, though Orzabal continued to make music under the Tears for Fears name. In 2000 the duo reunited and made plans for a new album. Everybody Loves a Happy Ending was released in 2004, the first Tears for Fears album to include Curt Smith since 1989.

Tears for Fears 2022 Shows

The first half of 2022 had Tears for Fears with special guest Garbage for the United States shows. The groups played shows in Phoenix, Denver, Tampa, Boston and more top cities around the country to reach all their fans. In June, the last show in the states was performed outside at an outdoor amphitheater in Long Island. The next month, Tear for Fears went on a UK tour with Alison Moyet. 2022 was full of amazing shows, Tears for Fears tickets are available before they hit the road.
