About The Arkells
This 5-piece canadian band may have started in 2008, but they sound like they've been doing this for decades! Their classic alternative sound is crisp and clean, and it perfectly butts heads with Max Kerman's political driven lyrics. The Arkells are an extensive touring band, combining their efforts with bands like The Postelles, X Ambassadors, andLydia. These guys know how to put on a performance! College Friends To Group Of The Year
The original five members of the band all met at McMaster University. In late 2008, the bamd released Jackson Square on Dine Alone Records. They won the new artist CASBY Award a year later, and a Juno Award for New Group of the Year in 2010. "Whistleblower" off of the band's second album, Michigan Left, was used as Intro Music to the Calgary Hitmen hockey team. Tony Hoffer, a producer for artists like The Kooks and M83, assisted the Arkells with their third studio album, High Noon. Morning Report was released dat the end of 2016. The single, "Private School", went on to chart at #1 for that entire summer. In 2017, the band embarked on a festival-focused circuit, attending Coachella, Osheaga, and Sasquatch! along the way. Most of the Arkell's take inspiration from political news and current events. Music is their way of spreading a message.
