Blazing Her Own Path

Despite her famous father, Rob Schneider, Elle King actually got her musical aspirations from her stepdad, Justin Tesa, when he got her a record of The Donnas. As a teenager she started playing guitar and banjo, acting in musicals, and sneaking into New York City clubs to perform. She released her first single, "Good To Be a Man," in 2012, releasing an EP shortly after. Esquire Magazine named her one of its "Artists to Watch in 2012," and she started performing on late night shows and with established bands like Train and Of Monsters and Men. In 2015 she released her first full-length album, Love Stuff. The lead single, "Ex's & Oh's," was a smash hit, garnering two Grammy Award nominations. The following year she collaborated with Dierks Bentley on "Different for Girls," a single which snagged the Musical Event of the Year Award at the 50th CMA Awards.
