Born on September 29, 1994, in Washington, New Jersey, singer Ashley Frangipane, better known by her stage name Halsey, developed a love of music at a young age. She played an array of instruments throughout her childhood, including the viola, violin and cello. After leaving home at 18, Halsey made an income by performing at low-key acoustic gigs across the state and in New York City. Her stage name is taken from the city itself - inspired by a subway stop on the L train that she routinely rode between gigs. A true artist of the digital age, Halsey's career started online. She spent much of her time recording tracks and posting them to SoundCloud. It was the single "Ghost" that caught the attention of many, however. After recording the song in her friend's studio, she uploaded it online, and the track soon received over 420,000 listens.
She exploded almost overnight, cultivating a loyal following of fans eager to secure cheap tickets to her shows. Her music pays homage to the zeitgeist - a dark and captivating form of electro pop, comparable to music by fellow artists such as the revered Lorde and The Chainsmokers. The instant success of "Ghost" attracted the attention of several major record labels. She opted to sign with Astralwerks, a label that specializes in dance and electronic music, in the winter of 2014, before releasing her first extended playlist, "Room 93." The EP received critical and commercial acclaim, and riding a wave of success, Halsey headlined her own major arena show. Fans flocked to the concerts in droves, cheap tickets in hand, to see her perform. She also delivered a stand-out performance at 2015's South by South West festival, becoming one of the most talked about artists of the event on social media and trending on Twitter multiple times.
The year 2015 also witnessed another career first for Halsey, with the release of her debut album, "Badlands." The album features production credits from several big artists, including Son Lux and the Futuristics. "Badlands" was met with widespread praise, especially from her burgeoning fan base, and since the album's release, Halsey has risen to the top of Billboard's Emerging Artist chart. It was clear then as it is even more so now that Halsey is just getting started on what promises to be an incredibly successful career.
Since her debut, she has released songs that soared to the top of the charts. “Bad at Love,” “Him & I,” her collaboration on the song “Eastside,” “Without Me,” “Nightmare,” and “Graveyard” were all fan favorites. Don’t miss out, cheap tickets are the only thing standing between you and seeing her live!
