October 5, 2008 - On this day the Indianapolis Colts made their way to the NRG Stadium (known as the Reliant Stadium back then) to take on the Texans. The team from Houston had won just one game against the Colts till that point. The away side went ahead 10-0 by the end of the first quarter. The Texans roared back with 17 unanswered points in the next quarter. They scored another three unanswered points in the third quarter to take a 20-10 lead. The Colts, however were not to be undone and they scored 21 points in the last quarter while the Texans could only manage 7. The Colts won the game 31-27 to extend their stranglehold over the Texans.
December 20, 2015 - The Houston Texans had never won against the Indianapolis Colts and they went to the Lucas Oil Stadium on December 20, 2015, to change that. After a scoreless first quarter, the Colts took a 10-3 lead in the second. The Texans then scored three more points compared to none by the Colts in the third quarter. The Texans mounted a spirited comeback in the last quarter to outscore the Colts 10-0 and take the game 16-10. The jinx was well and truly over.

Established in 2002, the Houston Texans have had many talented players represent them. Stars like Andre Johnson who became a seven time Pro Bowl pick. He was also the NFL’s receiving yards leader twice in his time with the Texans. Mario Williams played for the Texans between 2006 and 2011. During that time, he won two Pro Bowl selections before moving to the Buffalo Bills. Last but definitely not the least, there is Arian Foster who was a two time NFL rushing touchdown leader and was picked for Pro Bowl on four occasions as a Texan.
The Indianapolis Colts have won two Super Bowls. The first came in 1970 and the great Johnny Unitas was a big factor in that triumph. He was a four time NFL MVP with the Colts and the franchise has since retired his number 19. Spearheaded by Reggie Wayne with Marvin Harrison and Peyton Manning, the Colts won their second Super Bowl in 2006. Reggie also made it to six Pro Bowls as a Colt. Marvin Harrison was an eight time Pro Bowl pick and has been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Peyton Manning left the Colts in 2012 and led the Denver Broncos to a Super Bowl win in 2015 before calling it a day a month later.
