"Amazing!"

"We loved our 6-night stay at the Kaanapali Hilton Vacation Club. The room has an incredible view of the ocean and Lanai and was very spacious, clean, and modern (I realize that the update/remodel was now awhile ago but still more than adequate and clean to look as if it was done recently). All amenities were very useful and accessible (especially the kitchen and kitchen tools). We enjoyed swimming every day and the entire staff were amazing. Underground parking was a bit of concern due to recent flooding but we had no issues. We will be back."

"I visited Royal Lahaina with my partner and we had a partial ocean view room on the 12th floor in the tower. The view was of the golf course, mountains and ocean. It was an amazing view for the price and I consider this hotel a great value. It’s a small resort with vintage Hawaiian vibes—simple and beautiful. The grounds are really gorgeous and lush, with a beautiful canyon tree which hosts performances at night. The sand bottom beach is heaven and it’s the best swimming beach I’ve ever experienced. We travel quite a bit and were in love with the entire property. The property is walking distance to Whaler’s Village and other properties and restaurants. We went snorkeling at Black Rock (Sheraton has snorkels for rent there, super easy) and had shave ice after—then a short walk back to Royal Lahaina. I would like to come back with my kiddos and try a bungalow—they are a bit more private but lack the views we had in the tower. What could be better: the toilet room/shower is small, lower ceilings and more rustic than the room. If you rent an umbrella for the beach, the chairs are really uncomfortable and not Lou ge style —but we could have spent more for a bungalow on the grass which is close to the beach. One restaurant on the property and it’s delicious. The coffee shop/ice cream shop is a great value and place for snacks. We typically like boutique hotels and while this is a resort we found it very charming. We will definitely be back."

"My stay was a nightmare, not just due to a massive bug infestation after a storm, but because of the front desk’s dismissive and unprofessional attitude. On our first night, hundreds of bugs swarmed our entrance and bathroom. After I called, housekeeping came to vacuum. Housekeeping was kind and cleared the bugs, advising us to keep all lights off. We complied immediately. However, the swarm returned shortly after. I was forced to kill bugs and block the door gap with towels to block them from entering. The next morning, I requested a room change, showing photo evidence that while our door (near the elevator/vent where the bugs entered) was swarmed, others were clear. The front desk agreed to change but her response was unprofessional: 1. Gaslighting: The agent repeatedly insinuated it was my fault, questioning if I left lights on 2 times despite my assurances that we followed all instructions. 2. Absurd Deflections: When shown that other rooms were clean she claimed maybe other guests used bug repellent. It is the hotel’s responsibility, not the guests’, to manage pest control. My Not to mention I had already sprayed until I could barely breathe with no effect. 3. Rude Communication: When I explained the towel-blocking was unsustainable, she interrupted me with an impatient, insincere "sorry." 4. Lack of Transparency: No warning was given at check-in about the light/bug issue. We later discovered bugs were entering through a vent near the elevator directly next to our room."
