"The grounds are certainly beautiful. And the view (from oceanfront room) was wonderful. The room itself was a bit lacking. Not much for counter space or room to open more than one suitcase. Bathroom was not cleaned thoroughly. Door to balcony was extremely difficult to move. The bed was so soft it was difficult to get out of it. Do not understand why the restaurant is not open every day as they have a captive audience. You basically have to go to Depot Bay to eat and the choices there are limited. (The brewpub at the Depot Bay harbor did have good fish and chips). Also note that you have to walk or take a shuttle to your room so pack accordingly."

"The location of the property is great! Conveniently located near shopping, local restaurants and beach access! All staff we encountered were so nice, knowledgeable of the area and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. If you plan on being in the room a lot you may struggle with limited amenities in the rooms, but all the basics were there and let’s be honest the best things on the coast aren’t in the hotel room, they are on the sandy shores and historic bay front. My only negative complaint is no hand soap in the room and a few more hangers would have been helpful. All in all we love staying at the Waves hotel."
