The hotel didn’t have any pet friendly rooms available, therefore they put us in a different room and proceeded to charge us $50 plus almost $10 in taxes per pet, per night for two 10 pound dogs. The pet fee is $25 per pet. The total cost from what we booked to what we ended up being charged was $120 just because they didn’t have pet rooms available at a pet friendly hotel. It was very disappointing.

Breakfast was ok, the bathroom in our room had some mildew built up around tub, there wasn't soap in the body wash bottle. The pool and hot tub were fun and decently clean. The sauna was lukewarm and when we asked for help we were told it was working fine but it took my husband fooling around under the stove to get it hot so maybe they should get a guide on the wall on how to actually turn it on. Furniture in the room had exposed plywood and stains that looked like where someone had sat, which explains the odor in the room although my husband didn't smell anything. When we asked about other rooms to move to in our second night of stay instead of being friendly the person who i spoke with just barked "everything that's available is basically the same" without asking us why, following up or offering assistance. Overall the entire building has a feel of deferred maintenance - anti-slip pads on stairs crumbling, paint in obvious need of touch up, filthy spaces behind the 15-year -old ikea looking breaking down furniture. On the positive side view of the beach and ocean was spectacular. We loved the in-room french press with provided satchels of ground coffee and fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. Nice to have a microwave. Bed itself seemed clean.

Hot tub was wonderful and pool was nice. Room was clean but basic. There were no instructions on the fireplace. The view was amazing, unfortunately we traveled with a pet and was placed in a room that overlooked the public deck, so privacy was an issue. Overall a nice affordable place to stay

Staff was professional and courteous. The breakfast was the best we have experienced in this type of hotel in a long time. Biscuits were warm and fresh and the gravy tasty. The attendant was friendly and efficient. Great location for the beach and night sky watching. There were no washcloths in the room we were told this is not the norm. For me, the pillows were too dense thus it was a poor nights sleep.
