Front desk staff was pretty apathetic. When bringing up issues with the room such as conditioner being completely empty upon arrival, tv remote not functioning, or coffee station not being restocked with emptu dirty coffee cups left there despite cleaning staff having "cleaned" the room,they were not apologetic and very matter of fact. We were told you have to request the coffee station to be attended to as this is a different service from housekeeping. NEVER saw that in any other hotel before. Also how are we supposed to know of this stupid rule. ?? Oh and coffee pods are only free the first night, we were told. After that you have to pay extra....at that price range this aka hotel is a joke, really....

I stayed at the Hotel AKA Back Bay in Boston last summer and really enjoyed it, so chose Hotel AKA again for my recent stay in New York. Spacious room by NYC standards, very clean and well appointed with wardrobe, shelf and drawer space. Particularly enjoyed the excellent rain shower and high-quality bath amenities. Friendly, helpful staff. Only complaint: thermostat would not go below 70, which for me (I sleep hot) meant a choice between tossing and turning from too-warm room or street noise from open window (thank goodness it opened).

Staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms were cool, though bathroom lighting wasn’t enough for makeup. We used the gym- it is small but had what we needed. Had a drink at the bar. Bartender was so nice. Lighting in bathroom - Not a deal breaker and we will stay again.
