Fort Wayne is located in the northeast corner of Indiana, 18 miles west of the Ohio border. It is the home of the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, which opens from late spring through early fall. The Fort Wayne Coliseum regularly plays host to big name concerts and other events, such as the Shrine Circus and Komets hockey games. Visitors to the city can take a tour of the Old Fort, a replica of its original defense compound built in 1815. They can also check out the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, or watch a play at the Fort Wayne Civic Theater. Ballets are performed throughout the year at the Arts United Center.
The Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) is located eight miles southeast of the city. Ground transportation from the airport into the city of Fort Wayne is provided by taxis, hotel shuttles and limousine services. Car rentals are also available at the airport, and once you arrive in the city, the Citilink bus system provides transportation throughout Fort Wayne.
