After landing at the Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS), visitors can see the sparkling blue water of the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the waiting sandy beaches. Those who tour the city will see a variety of museums and attractions ranging from The Queen's Staircase, to Atlantis Paradise Island.
There are casinos for those who like to gamble, and shopping centers for those who like a little retail therapy while on vacation. While in Nassau, try scuba diving to view a variety of sea life; like turtles and tropical fish.
Securing a rental car can be done at the airport on arrival. There is no method of public transportation in the city, but there are taxis available. Some of the hotels in the area offer shuttle services back and forth to the airport. Windsor Field Road is north of the airport, with West Bay St. running along the coast to the north of this road.
Drivers need to pay attention to the direction of traffic as residents of Nassau drive on the left side of the road. NAS is the largest airport in the Bahamas, so try to arrive in the middle of the day when there is not a lot of foot traffic through the airport. Flight time from NAS from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) is about 55 minutes.
