Kona Keahole (KOA) is about seven miles from Kailua-Kona town down Queen Kaahumanu Highway, travelers had best take a taxi or shuttle as the bus service is unreliable. Flights usually last for around 20 minutes to Kahului (OGG). From OGG it's about 16 miles to Lahaina down Honoapiilani Highway and 11 miles to Kihei down the Piilani Highway. The airport is easily accessible by taxi, hotel shuttle and public transport.

Maui is a byword for natural beauty and visitors to the Valley Island will quickly learn that this is no exaggeration. Highlight of any trip is of course the Haleakala Crater; the island's highest point offers amazing views of the entire island. Hurricane season lasts from June to September. Hotels can be found all over the island and usually offer easy beach access.
