Washington Ronald Reagan National (DCA) serves the Baltimore-Washington area and is three miles south of Washington, D.C. It can be accessed via Interstate 395 and the George Washington Memorial Parkway.

Flight times are usually three to five hours to Kansas City International Airport (MCI), and upon arrival in Kansas City, you will be near major transportation routes Interstate 435 and highways 71, 152 and 169.

Attractions and Tips

The Kansas City Chiefs play home games here at Arrowhead Stadium, and the Kansas City Royals play their games at Kaufmann Stadium. The National World War I Museum houses artifacts from WWI and the Liberty Memorial is a towering monument to the soldiers who died then.

The Arabia Steamboat Museum contains most of the cargo from the steamship Arabia, which sunk in 1856, and was rediscovered 132 years later with its treasure intact. Union Station is a major tourist attraction that used to function as a huge rail hub ready to accommodate 10,000 passengers. After closing down in the 1980's and undergoing renovations, it re-opened to the public with modest services.

Kansas City experiences very warm summers, with temperatures frequently reaching 90 degrees Fahrenheit, but usually without excessive humidity. Winter temperatures are cold, averaging in the 30's, with dips below freezing. Precipitation is heaviest during late spring and summer months, and heavy storms can occur here
