Escape the crammed highways and crowded beaches to explore something quite a bit different from what you’re used to in Los Angeles. Salt Lake City can offer the kind of quiet getaway anyone is looking for, starting with a much smaller and easier to navigate airport. The airport is only a ten minute drive from downtown.
SLC has a train station near Terminal 1, which services most of the Salt Lake valley. Additionally, shuttles provided by your selected hotel, taxicabs and limousines are available for hire. However, a rental car is the most convenient way to get around the city.
Take an afternoon to relax in Liberty Park, which is one of the local favorites. With jogging paths, playgrounds and a large center pond, it is the most beautiful park located near downtown. If you’re with children, the Tracy Aviary is an excellent way to let your kids explore different exotic birds, while also having an education experience.
The flight from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is only one hour and a half, so you’ll be jumping out to explore the new city in no time at all. Taxis are not as frequently available in Salt Lake as they are in Los Angeles, so it’s best to call ahead and schedule one if you know you’ll be in need.
