Before you even land at the Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), the beautiful mountains surrounding the Salt Lake Valley will bring out the adventurer in you. Mountain resorts are only a 45-minute drive or shuttle ride away, and the scenery is so captivating that you will hardly notice as the time passes by.
The Salt Lake City LDS Temple, located downtown, is not only a religious attraction, but also a historical and architectural marvel. There are guided tours covering the grounds outside of the temple, which include a brief history of Salt Lake. This is a great way to introduce yourself to the local history. Just around the corner from the temple is Memory Grove Park where you can go for a stroll. At the northern side of this park is an easy hiking trail with a brief climb to a great viewing point.
