Minneapolis is a destination full of places to investigate and enjoy, especially in a car. Once you get your rental car at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP), you can head to the nearby Mall of America. You can also drive downtown to walk the Nicollet Mall and follow the Loring Greenway to the Walker Art Museum and Sculpture Garden. Sports enthusiasts can visit Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins, or TCF Bank Stadium, home of the Gophers and the Vikings.
Minneapolis has several major freeways which can help you to get around the metro area. Interstate 94 runs east west through the city and connects to the sister city of Saint Paul, and Interstate 35W runs north and south.
You can enjoy a day in downtown Minneapolis and top it off in the Entertainment District, which has plenty of restaurants like 112 Eatery, bars such as Brit’s Pub, as well as a movieplex to provide a full night life. Inclement weather will not stop you downtown, as the Nicollet Mall and nearby entertainment district are connected by enclosed skyways. You can shop, dine and catch a movie without going outside.
There are many direct flights available from Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) to MSP, so flying won't take you all day. Average flight time from gate to gate is around two hours and 20 minutes.
