Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is one of the largest and busiest airports in the world and is easily accessible via Interstate-90 and Highway 1A.

Flight duration is 12 to 14 hours to Honolulu International (HNL), where Highway H1 is the major nearby transportation route.

Attractions and Tips

Hanauma Bay is on the eastern side of the island and is well known as an excellent site for snorkeling. Honolulu’s Chinatown is a bustling market section of the city, where fresh fish, fruits and vegetables can be haggled over and purchased.

Hiking enthusiasts will enjoy a pilgrimage to dormant volcano Diamond Head, which is an icon for the city. Waikiki and Ala Moana Beach Park are two of the best beaches for surfing, swimming and paddle boarding in the Honolulu area.

The Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium are very near each other and provide great family entertainment, including a diversity of animal life as well as lush tropical gardens.

Honolulu has a mostly dry climate, so rain gear probably won’t be needed here, but sunscreen will. The temperatures fluctuate very little throughout the year, averaging between 75 degrees Fahrenheit and 95 degrees. Any rainfall that occurs comes during the October through April period, with the rest of the year being very dry.
