Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) can be reached easily via highways 71, 183 and 130.
Flights from AUS to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) usually last for two to four hours and upon landing in Atlanta, you will be very near Highway 401 and interstate routes 85 and 285.
You can also take public transportation to the city from the airport, or, if your hotel offers it, a courtesy shuttle.
The Atlanta History Museum houses several buildings including the Swan House, the Smith Family Farm and many artifacts from the Battle of Atlanta during the Civil War. Piedmont Park is the oldest and largest park in the Atlanta metropolitan area, and its grounds were originally part of the battlefield from the Battle of Peachtree Creek in the Civil War.
The Atlanta Botanical Garden has a variety of well laid out gardens, open all year round, and it is especially famous for its Orchid Display.
Summer months in Atlanta are always hot and muggy, regularly exceeding 90 degrees Fahrenheit, while winter temperatures seldom dip as low as the freezing mark. Precipitation is generally abundant throughout the year, although spring and early fall can be relied upon to be the driest months of each year.
