The staff were friendly and helpful, and we appreciated being informed at check-in about the construction on the main floor. Fortunately, there was no construction noise in our room during the night. We have always liked the Hilton brand, which is why we chose this property, but unfortunately this location was disappointing. The room felt poorly lit and showed signs of wear, including an old leather/vinyl chair with peeling upholstery. Both in-room phones were not functioning, which made it difficult to order room service or request extra sheets. In addition, the room remained uncomfortably hot despite setting the thermostat to 19°C. Given the price point, we could have stayed at other nearby hotels for less. We specifically chose Hilton because of our positive past experiences with the brand, so this stay did not meet our expectations.

Noisy renovations throughout the day. The pocket door in our room was stuck and when I gave it a bit of a yank, the inside piece of frame fell off. Instead of apologizing for the room being in disrepair, when I called to report it, the night supervisor accused me of applying "more than 20 newtons of force" and called security, accusing me of being "abusive." Which I most certainly was not. Last time I stay in a Hilton. :(
