"Had a great stay at Kurobe Unazuki Onsen Yamanoha. Breakfast and dinner were buffet style with many options - both traditional and western. Room was very spacious and was a lot bigger than we were expecting! Highlight was the outdoor Onsen. Would highly recommend - staff spoke good English and very friendly. "

"Took a chance on having no idea what to do or where to stay. Found this place and it didn’t disappoint! First off, Nicolas is the best host we have ever experienced. Seriously cannot thank him enough for taking care of my family. Answered every question and made some amazing recommendations. He grew up here and knows this place well. Thank you Nicolas. Second, location is the best! We walked right to the lift! It is literally across the street and there’s a great rental shop below the inn that gives you a discount. Nico also does a great job of letting you know the good deals and getting everything for you set up. He even delivered our lift tickets to the rental shop. Great dude! Third, everything you need is right here. The room is so comfortable with amazing views and secure. Best trip to the snow in Japan. Highly recommend this place. Five stars doesn’t do it justice. "Worst hotel experience I’ve ever dealt with. Unable to get to the hotel because the only road to the hotel was closed. Hotel customer service was out-sourced and I had to talk to someone out of Japan that did not know anything about the hotel or roads in the area. After about 2 hours of back-and-forth via emails, they finally provided a number to the actual hotel, but the language barrier was a challenge. They agreed to cancel the reservation and agreed to provide a full refund, however, spending over 2 hours with 2 young kids trying to get to the hotel was definitely not how we wanted to end our snow day. We had to look for a last minute hotel booking to ensure we had a place to stay for the night. Be careful of this hotel. Pictures can be deceiving. Customer service is out-sourced to a different county."
