The hotel is fantastic and the location is amazing—everything about the stay was excellent. However, the checkout experience left a very negative mark. When my card transaction didn’t go through after several attempts, the front desk staff immediately rushed to get the manager. He came over asking if everything was okay, and I explained that I would sort it out myself or simply use another card. What truly bothered me was the way they handled the situation. The reaction made me feel as though I was being treated like someone suspicious or unable to pay, rather than a guest experiencing a common banking issue. It’s not unusual for a bank’s security system to block a transaction, yet they escalated it unnecessarily. That moment completely ruined what had been an otherwise wonderful stay.

Overall, it was a great stay. The floors had not been swept, I found some random small item in between the sheets, which gave me a cause for concern, but I always pack my own sheets, anyway. The breakfast buffet was really good. The ambience was really nice.

We arrived and were told the room wasn’t available as there was a flood and sent to a hotel across the road at 10.30pm . Did not receive any notification by email. Was totally jet lagged. Told to come back next day at 12.00 and that the room would be ready. Arrived and not ready. We eventually got a room which they claimed was an upgrade which was not. The room had no fridge. The safe had problems with its battery and the lighting in the room was poor. Room 1428. It looked like there was a fridge and they said it was a minibar that was not accessible and had been stopped since Covid. Very weird way of handling and managing room utilities. They told us they would bring a fridge but it never occurred, Overall room and service very poor.
