Although the staff were lovely and location great the hotel itself was tired, worn and dated. We had several issues with our room, the windows not locking and the air con not working to name the main 2 and although I mentioned it to the staff who took notes the window wasn’t fixed until multiple reminders and we ended up doing it ourselves whilst the handyman told us what to do, the other issues never fixed at all. Very disappointing for the price.

The hotel is very dated. The room we had was opposite the elevator so very loud at night with people coming and going (809). The rooms furniture was old and chipped. The rug under the bed was waded up so it caused a tripping hazard. The banister, skirting boards and walls needed a good lick of paint. On a positive note, the location was perfect, close to everything and the few staff members we talked to were nice

Staff was super friendly and the location was perfect. However I have a few complaints. The elevators are TINY. one would only fit maybe 4 people-3 if you also had luggage. There were no USB ports in the room so if you didn’t bring a charging cube you had to go buy one. The shower had body wash and a shampoo/conditioner combo, but it was really just shampoo. The heat was a radiator so there wasn’t a temp controller, you just had to open the nozzle and see if it was enough/too much heat. Overnight there was a constant loud clicking noise (assumed it came from the radiator but we never figured it out). The windows weren’t weather-sealed so there was a draft. No microwave or ice makers - had to go down to the lobby to use either of those. Overall I thought the price of the room considering the location made it worth it, but I do wish I’d known some of the issues before we booked it.

The hotel is very basic, but it is a 2-star, so there was no tea/coffee facilities in the room, or in the entire hotel. There was a bar in the lounge, but it was never open during our stay, and the hotel could have done with an uplift - the paintwork and furniture was chipped and very tired looking. The best thing about the hotel was the location - less than 5 mins walk from Times Square so if you have a packed itinerary, you won't need to be in the hotel for long. All staff were polite and the hotel was clean.

I have photos and had no hot water ( Luke warm). Unprofessional staff and management. Between 12th floor construction and BANGING registers on the A Tower ( rooms 09-11) tower and they put me in 1111and I don’t sleep for 2 nights. Had to move rooms and I was downgraded from my K to a Q. Never had hot water on 504- vacillated between cold and Luke warm. The engineer came up, ran the faucet and left. Terrible draft through windows- especially around the AC unit. I have stayed at St. James for the past 6 Christmases. It’s DEPLORABLE! Do not stay there!

The staff were friendly and helpful. There was air con but with it being -9 we didn’t use it. The room was well heated though so didn’t notice the cold. The room we had was a bit small for 4 people but we’ve stayed before and had a very spacious room, just depends what’s available in check in. The location is amazing, 3 min walk and your on Times Square!

It had a noisy radiator that kept waking us through the night, the rooms were clean but bathroom floor needed a better clean every day, the hotel does need an upgrade but as the location was so good we would be happy to stay again. Overall, our stay was alright. The hotel itself was nice, and the staff were all friendly. However, we had issues with the toilet, sink, and heat in our room. The toilet made very loud sounds constantly, the sink leaked, and the heat didn’t regulate well, made loud clunky noises, and cold air seeped in from where the window AC unit was. Would recommend as a cheap place to stay near Times Square, but definitely had its issues.
