If you're going to see the city and need a safe and clean space to sleep and change, this place is it! It's so close to everything and so affordable! Time Square is less than a block away, but this location is on a side street so not super busy with car or foot traffic. Staff was wonderful and made our trip amazing.

I booked a double bed room and was told I was upgraded to a king. No king in the room and the room window looked out to a brick building. There weren’t double locks on the room and the hallway was noisy so I didn’t feel 100% safe. Nothing happened thankfully but I won’t be staying there again. Location was great and price was good but the room was not good.

Great stay

Small cute little hotel one block from EVERYTHING! Times Square, great food and rooftop bars. No view but comfortable bed. A/C was a little loud but otherwise a great stay for the price.

Wonderful Stay – Like Visiting Family in the Heart of NYC! We had such an amazing stay at Hotel St. James! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like old friends. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and so much fun to talk to. They truly went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Everyone we met was kind, warm, and made us feel like part of the family. Whether we needed directions, recommendations, or just a good conversation after a long day, they were always there with a smile. Their hospitality made our NYC trip even more special. The hotel itself is cozy, clean, and perfectly located—just steps from Times Square but still peaceful and relaxing. It was the perfect spot for our family to unwind after exploring the city. We’re so grateful for the wonderful memories we made here. Thank you, Hotel St. James, for making our stay unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back!

I came at 1pm and was told my room was ready but had to pay an additional charge to check in. I came back at 3 pm, the Asian gentleman at the front desk was very rude. I couldn’t hear anything he was saying, when I asked him to repeat what he said he ignored me every time., have a hearing problem and was appalled they would treat someone with a handicap like that. When I signed the form he turned to his counter partner and said “look at this writing, ridiculous. They both giggled and starred at me. A terrible experience. This hotel discriminates against the handicapped.

This property was in a great location right near Times Square very clean and tidy and Joey at the front desk was so nice and friendly I would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re on a budget in New York
