Our rooms mini fridge and AC wasn’t working, we eventually got moved to another room which was good. The shower floor felt greasy like it hadn’t been cleaned well but it looked fine. They keep the hallways pretty hot upstairs but it’s such a short walk it isn’t too bad. Overall not bad, I would stay again as so many other hotels in NYC have issues with bed bugs. However, it’s definitely pricey, which is not reflected in luxury, but location.

Great location! Staff was pleasant. Room was clean. Free lattes/espresso, not just the basic drip coffe you get at most places. Room was very small. My air conditioner did not work. Room was very warm, like 75-80 all night l which made sleeping more difficult.

Avoid Carnegie Hotel on 56th Street I really don’t recommend staying here. The rooms are much smaller than you’d expect, but the biggest issue is the hidden facility fee—$29 per night. Supposedly, it covers “food,” but in reality, it’s just chips and poor-quality coffee. To make matters worse, the management was unhelpful. A friend I was traveling with couldn’t eat the snacks because of health concerns (high cholesterol), and there were no real alternatives offered. The vibe overall felt cheap and poorly managed. You end up paying extra for almost nothing. Definitely not worth it.

My heat did not work but staff tried everything they could to get it working again. They gave me a space heater for the night and got it fixed in the morning. Carpets in the rooms were pretty old and dirty, otherwise not a bad stay.
