The RIU is a great place to stay. The staff at check-in, the waiters and waitresses are all very polite and helpful. The hotel is very clean and well situated on Paradise Island. As far as the food goes, the buffet has excellent food and something for everyone, whether it is breakfast, lunch and dinner. My only complaint is that they advertise five restaurants. We got there on Sunday late afternoon and tried to get into the other restaurants. The only one we could get into was the steakhouse on Wednesday, our last evening, so we could not experience any of the restaurants except one. The buffet was so good, so as disappointing as it was, you should not hold that against the RIU because of lack of access to all the restaurants.

Here is a long review. We arrived. As you check in, they hand out champagne. We got a new lady but very friendly. We checked in and we proceeded to our room. The ac did not work the first night. In the first night, the power went out 4 times. There are 4 restaurants but 3 of them require a reservation, and they barelt have any availability. The best aervice wr got was at the krystal by a guy named Neco. He was awesome. The 24 hour bar was good for watching thr games, although only Hugh and Kellen had a personality. The rest seemed like they hated their job. Its very easy to get a taxi right out side the hotel. The casino is about half a mile around the block. They wouldnt let us enter from the beacj and that was a mile wasted round trip of walking. But hey i got my steps in! . The service is medicore . I learned that the dollar is even so they dont care as much. The bed was extrememly hard. I had a tramatic accident a couple years ago which prevents me from sleeping any way other than my back. We had to call 3 times and then, 2 hours later, we got our extra pillow we requested but not a pillow topper. Our ac would kick in about 4am and be freezing in our room. We couldnt gage what to wear to bed. Another older couple said they had the same issue where it was hot then got freezing. The water is absolutely beautiful and clear. They dont clean the seaweed off the sand though. All in all- it was mrdiocre

The staff and drinks were fabulous! My room was cleaned just ok-they could improve on this but I didn't spend that much time in my room so it was fine. The buffet food was also just ok but the restaurants shined more. The tuna fish sandwiches at the bar were my favorite thing for a late night/early morning snack

I had an amazing experience at Hotel Riu Bahamas and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and fun getaway. The location is perfect—right on a beautiful stretch of beach with stunning ocean views and easy access to Nassau attractions. The staff truly made the stay special. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, always going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. Customer service was excellent from check-in to check-out. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well maintained, with comfortable beds and great views. Housekeeping did a fantastic job keeping everything fresh and tidy. Food and drinks were another highlight. There was a wide variety of options at the buffets and restaurants, and everything we tried was delicious. The bars were well stocked, and the bartenders were fast and friendly. The pool area and beach were beautiful and never felt overcrowded. There were plenty of activities, entertainment, and music during the day, along with great shows at night—perfect if you want both relaxation and fun in one place. Overall, Hotel Riu Bahamas exceeded my expectations. It’s a great value for an all-inclusive resort, and I would definitely stay here again!

Initially had the suite (u) which we were unaware that it didn’t have a balcony. The front desk staff was accommodating and “downgraded” us to a room with a balcony which made the trip better since we’re were just staring out of a dirty 7th floor window overlooking a parking lot. Service at the indoor and swim up bar was awful unless you were “fishing” for service with tip money in your hand. Getting hounded at the beach by local vendors every two minutes got old quick, along with the them smoking marijuana as they walked by you.

The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. The rooms were in poor condition, they need to be updated very badly.The beds were comfortable. We went to a couple of the “specialty” restaurants, we didn’t like them at all, in fact when we were done there we went to the buffet to eat. The buffet was OK, most of the food was lukewarm at best. The breakfast was great! Made to order eggs, pancakes, French toast,bacon and all the things. The pool was beautiful and warm. We probably won’t be going back there to the RIU.

Good variety of food and the staff was friendly. Making reservations at the restaurants was a bit difficult and there was very limited availability. At check in, nothing was explained to us without us asking. We weren’t told anything about the water sports that were offered or the sauna and jacuzzi which we would have taken part in. The “resort credit” was difficult to understand and was not actually a credit to use at the resort but more of a small discount at the over priced spa and coupons for things in town but it was not clear how to use it. The check-in process needs improvement.

The property staff were generally rude and slow. Our room was a huge disappointment. The AC fan was so loud we had to shut it off at nite. Our TV got 1/3 of the channels that our friends got which forced us to the only place in the resort that had a tv for the NFL playoffs. That bar had 4 small tvs and was extremely loud with a floor that was so slippery we had to take great care walking around. We asked for water several times for our room, that they promised to supply every day, and had to wait 2=3 hours for them to respond to our room. They showed up one time to fix the tv and scheduled to come back the next day at 10....we waited...called 2 times and they never showed up. We found out later we were never provided bath robes or extra towels that our traveling companions got. Overall I would rate this resort a 3 out of 10 especially considering it is the second most expensive all inclusive resort in the bahamas. We were extremely disappointed and will never return or use RIU in our future vacagtions.

Just not a 4 star place. I booked a room for myself and each of 5 of my friends. This place is three star at best. Staff was great. No complaints. The place itself looks dated. Especially the rooms. A couple of us didn't have hot water more than once. Coffee there is absolutely disgusting. Worst I've ever had. One of our group said his bathroom wasn't cleaned properly before he arrived, and then was never remedied. Food is good generally. Pizza is horrible. We ended up eating off site for one meal because we wanted something nicer.
