I would never accuse anyone unless I was absolutely sure, but my gold bracelet was stolen from my room. I had placed it inside a bag on the counter — my mistake for not using the safe, but I’ve never had to worry about that in any other hotel before.
When I told management, they said they’d check the room key record to see if anyone besides us or housekeeping entered, which completely misses the point — obviously, only housekeeping would have access. They also asked me to fill out a report right as I was checking out, when I was in a rush to run some errands before catching my flight. I told them I’d complete it when I came back to pick up my bags, but they insisted they would have to “note in my file” that I was delaying the process, which felt unnecessary and unhelpful given the situation.
It had both financial and sentimental value, and losing it completely ruined my trip. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I would strongly urge others to keep all valuables locked in the safe — or better yet, choose another place to stay.
