Our rooms were very quiet considering central location. More variety of snacks, other than just crisps, in the bar during the day e.g. biscuits, cakes would be good as the restaurant didnt cater for this.

Its been a few years since I have used Thistle opting for more modern hotel brands of late when visiting London. The hotel lacked warmth and atmosphere. The room was cold and some of the corridors even colder. Despite increasing the room control, there was little impact. The bar was sterile and the menu gave reason why the restaurant appeared sad and lonely. Such a shame as I am a big fan of Holborn which itself has plenty to offer and excellently located. Ultimately, Thistle appears to be a brand with its best years in the rear view mirror. I'm looking forward to a future for Thistle that restores the great heritage of yesteryear but embraces the best features of contemporary hospitality.

The beds were comfortable and the hotel quiet. Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. It was however, difficult to get hot water for the shower in the morning. I would also recommend, as there is no drop off or pick in front of the hotel that travellers be made aware they will have to walk a short distance with suitcases to a side street for a taxi.

We received a free upgrade to this hotel from The Thistle Holborn. Our room was amazing, large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We were given a complimentary breakfast which was delicious. Staff were very polite, efficient and friendly. We came for shopping and a theatre trip and this was the ideal place to stay.

.i forgot to prebook the breakfasts when doing the reservation. Kept getting different prices..seemed to depend on whom you were speaking with. Somewhat frustrating, but didn't take anything away from a nice breakfast buffet. No fan in bathroom and a window that didn't open made for a lit of steam.
