"Here's the bad first: we got the impression that some staff are not motivated at all. It revolved around the breakfast. Not once was an employee present to check on the state of affairs in the eating area. Never. The eggs were labeled "cheese omelets." That wasn't the case; it was the same old pale yellow bland no flavor scrambled egg thing in a tray. Cheese was MIA even separately . Not "omelet." The waffle batter dispenser didn't work, the whipped cream was only air, there were no cups for coffee or juice. The oatmeal was watery. Poor employee performance. This is a newer hotel, so the room design is practically exactly the same whether you're in Santa Fe or Lead, the only recent Hampton Inns of note I can recall staying at. Hilton is obviously a giant in the hotel business, and their corporate attitude is on display with their branding ideas. The beds were comfortable and the room clean. A drawback to modern giant hotel corporate design seems to be small rooms. This location is no different. It feels pretty tight in the rooms and the ceilings in the hallways seem too low for the average high school basketball player. Nice features in the room included: comfortable beds and linens, hooks to hang jackets and hooks in the bath for towels (why aren't these standard everywhere?), large TV (bigger than ours, not saying much, but it's pretty large). The double shade blinds were good and I liked the thermostat function as opposed to hi/low cool/hot units, etc."

"Beautiful in the fall! LOVE the decorations and the staff around 24/7. My only complaint is that the shower and bath water wasn't hot enough. I forgot my bathing suit so I did not get to enjoy the nice hot tubs on the deck. My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary with fall hikes to the Friendship Tower and the many falls in the area. We saw the mountain goats in the canyon, which was a first for me. I loved the creek right next to the Lodge, plus the common area and restaurant across the street! We will be back."
