We have been long time visitors of the Royal Sands, even staying there the very first year it opened, long before it was an all-inclusive resort. We love the location, the friendly staff, and the weather, of course. Unfortunately since it has been taken over by Holiday Inn Vacations, we have noticed a decline in the food quality. We understand that is a necessary evil in order to keep up with the all inclusive package, and we are still overall pleased for the most part, and willing to go off-site for a few meals. But perhaps our biggest complaint is that unless you are a member, or willing to sit through a 90-minute timeshare meeting, it is nearly impossible to get a dinner reservation at the already limited restaurant options. We also noticed more items with surcharges on the menus. Another restaurant option instead of the big timeshare sales office being constructed might actually steer more people in the direction of purchasing.

It was a nice resort very clean food was good but super boring barely any activity at the pool night show only 3 times a week !! After 9 pm the hotel is dead there was a sports bar but we have kids we couldn’t go Mostly old people and hotel members gets better treatment so if your 40 or under this isn’t your stay Plus I have 3 unrecognized charges on my credit card from the hotel that I don’t even know about

What didn’t stand out? This is a very well rounded resort. There is plenty of space for everyone at the pool or beach, there are fun activities every day. The shows are a must see, they are amazing. We stayed in the rooms without the kitchen and they were more than adequate , I really liked the door between the sleeping area and bathroom. The views from every room are good. Everything in the room was clean. The resort is kept up very well. The food was amazing. The staff, I can’t say enough good about all the staff. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave and everything in between. I will make a special shout out to Samuel who works the dinner buffet service at La Veranda. We met him the first night here and have made a point to sit in his section each time we go back. He made us feel extra special and was extremely attentive, respectful, and fun. The ONLY suggestions I have to the resort are 1. Maybe a board daily with the different events displayed in the lobby (shows, karaoke etc) and 2. MORE KARAOKE (in the bar or if it’s advertised more for the gran salon) would be great. This was our first time to cancun and first time at this resort and if we decide to come back to the area would definitely come back.

What a great place! Starting with the reception, Dylan who helped us with the restaurant bookings, the waiters and all the staff. They were fast, efficient and smiling all the time. The rooms/ apartments are spotless, good furniture, curtains, the kitchen is fulkt equipped. You have everything you need and more. Food is delicious and the drinks are good too. Swimming pools are heated and the children enjoyed the aqua park and the jacuzzi. The other hotel is a great spot for snorkeling, we sau a starfish, a baracuda, a stingray, a puffer fish and lots of others.Overall this place is amazing and I will give ☆☆☆☆☆

Poolside was fantastic! You all need to find Daniel and Damien. We’ve had other servers, but they weren’t as good as Daniel and Damien. They deserve a shout-out because they took care of my family of 20 people every time we saw them. They were incredibly fast at taking our orders poolside, and it was always a pleasure to see them because they handled everything efficiently. Thank you, Daniel and Damien. I appreciate everything you did for us. I hope you both see this or the resort tell you. 10/10
