"Room was ok, we had a king suite. Tv was placed on dresser so it was hard to watch from the bed. The bed pillows were small for a king bed, more like a throw pillow. Bathroom did have an oversized bathtub, but you really didn’t want to use it for the bathroom fan was so loud! Our coffeemaker was missing a part so couldn’t make coffee in am. When we told him at front desk, he replied, ‘we have coffee down here.’The lounge area had chairs pushed off to the side and you always had to go get someone for help. The TV didn’t work in the breakfast area. Keep in mind this was off season for them, so hopefully it will get better business picks up for them. The price an location was good."

"The building is beautifully restored, attractive and comfortable. Bob and the breakfast lady were welcoming and friendly. We will definitely start there again."

"This was our 2nd time staying here and we will be back again and again! My family loves this cabin, the location, the view, and everything about it! Love the ease of check in we could do independently. Noticed right away on arrival and entering that it was very clean and well maintained with a personal touch inside and out. Beautiful cabin with a babbling brook that ran along entire front of cabin. Loved sitting on deck enjoying the sounds. Everything we needed including ample towels and blankets. Surprised that we had large selection of tv stations. Appreciated the land line in case of emergency. Warm lighting all along deck and motion light at entrance. Very safe and tucked away from the busy tourism but close enough to get to everything the black hills has to offer! "

"This was a stop over on a business trip from Colorado to Minnesota. This one day was the highlight of my week. A great way to relax and enjoy. Staff was wonderful and accomodations were plenty. WE ate at the restaurant, great food, great view and staff was attentive, friendly and went above and beyond. Thank you to the Spearfish Lodge! We will be back! "

"This is a great older property on the highway as you come into Lead from Deadwood. I used to live in town so .camilair with the property and it's history. They have cabins and rooms. We stayed in a room. It was roomy even with a King size bed, plus had a loveseat, tall dinette, dresser, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Pet friendly property. They are in the process of remodeling the rooms/cabins and other buildings (4/2026), and are adding a fenced-in dog area. There is also a covered patio with picnic tables and grills, and a fire pit in a grassy area. There were no staff on-site, however they were very quick to respond to texts, and have local partners to assist with the minor issues we contacted them about. Excellent customer service. You do get some road noise from the highway, but it didn't keep either of us awake, and I'm a light sleeper. We would recommend it to friends and family, and will stay here again, trying a cabin next time. "
