About Arizona Coyotes

Based in Glendale, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix, the Arizona Coyotes are the state's sole professional ice hockey team competing in the Western Conference of the National Hockey League.

The team has spent the last twelve years bring fans to their feet at Glendale's Gila River Arena, but the team has been in existence since 1971 and joined the NHL officially in 1979.

The team was briefly owned by the NHL due to poor ownership, and then ensued a battle by fans and the franchise to keep the team in Phoenix, and eventually an agreement was made that would keep the Coyotes at home in Glendale.

The Coyote's would go on to win the Division Championship in the 2011-2012 season under the tutelage of head coach Dave Tippett.

The Coyotes have produced two Hockey Hall of Famers in right wings Mike Gartner and Brett Hull.

The team's all-time scoring leaders are Dale Hawerchuk and Shane Doan (Doan also holds the distinction of being the only current player to have played for the team when they were the Winnipeg Jets back in 1995.

The Arizona Coyotes are beloved by Arizonans and fans of hockey everywhere— buy tickets to see them in action on the ice today!
