Norfolk International (ORF) is located about seven miles from Norfolk, Virginia down several state highways as well as easily accessible via public transportation. Flight duration is just over five hours to Los Angeles (LAX). The airport is just less than 20 miles southwest of downtown LA and due south of Santa Monica, taxis are parked just out front of the terminal building; however, the best way to get around Los Angeles is to rent a car.

The City of Angels offers something for everybody, from stargazing in Beverly Hills to lazing on the beaches of Venice and Santa Monica. Visitors can, for example, take one of the many tours of their favorite stars' houses, or go past the locations where their favorite films were shot. Besides showbiz, LA has a rich cultural scene with several museums (Griffith Observatory, California Science Center, LA County Museum of Art), as well as some lovely countryside surrounding the city, such as Runyon Canyon. To top it off, LA has a lively nightlife and offers drinks and food from all over the world and at any hour of the day.

Southern California's weather is good all year round, though rain gear is advised in winter. The city's better hotels are found downtown, in Beverly Hills or near the beaches of Venice and Santa Monica.
