Cheap flights from Salt Lake City (SLC) to Maui (OGG)

Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is four miles west of downtown Salt Lake City, so it can easily be reached via interstate routes 80, 15 and 215.

Flight times from SLC to Kahului Airport (OGG) are usually eight to 10 hours, and after landing on the island of Maui, you will be closest to coastal Highway 36.

Attractions and Tips

Haleakala National Park is located at the base of an inactive volcano, 10,000 feet in height, and from its summit, a spectacular view of the entire island can be seen. Iao Valley is west of Wailuku and is a very popular destination because of the Iao Needle, a 2,300-foot basalt rock formation.

The Maui Ocean Center is a series of well-designed aquariums that feature reef fish, coral, sea turtles and stingrays. A visitor favorite is the glass and ray tank, which surrounds the visitor like a tunnel and offers stunning observation opportunities.

Kaanapali Beach is in Lahaina and is considered Maui's finest beach, with shops, restaurants, and hotels.

Maui has two seasons each year, a summer period and a winter period. For the summer months, temperatures are hot and humid between May and September, which is when precipitation is greatest. The winter months from October through April are generally drier and somewhat cooler.
