Richmond's humid subtropical climate means varying temperatures and a moderate amount of precipitation year round; so always bring an umbrella and poncho. Late spring and early fall are easily the most comfortable times to visit, as the summers can see averages upwards of 77 degrees, and winter can drop to a nippy 38 degrees on average.
