If you want to fly from Los Angeles to Orlando, you will most likely catch a flight from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Orlando International Airport (MCO). Orlando, a large city in Central Florida, is perhaps best known for its theme parks. In addition to the Walt Disney World Resort, there is also SeaWorld Orlando and the Universal Orlando Resort to explore.
Orlando International Airport is nine miles from downtown Orlando. If you want to be able to explore the area freely, your best option is to rent a car. To drive to Walt Disney World, you take North Exit Road from the airport to SR 528 and continue west to Interstate 4. Another popular destination in Orlando is the Amway Center where you can see a variety of sporting events and concerts.
A nonstop flight from LAX to MCO will take just over five hours. Orlando, the county seat of Florida’s Orange County, was known as Jernigan until 1857.
One of the best places to appreciate Florida’s natural beauty is at Discovery Cove; a theme park and resort that offers activities including swimming with dolphins, snorkeling, and observing and feeding exotic birds in a free flight aviary.
If you are driving in Orlando, you also have easy access to nearby cities such as Winter Park, Fairview Shores and Pine Castle.
