Los Angeles is known as the entertainment capital of the world. It boasts an immense variety of attractions to meet the needs of any vacationer, and also caters to business travelers. Stretches of sand like Long Beach, aquariums, museums such as J. Paul Getty, amusement parks, world-class hotels and beautiful gardens are available in close proximity to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
The airport serves as one of the main transportation hubs for the city, and shuttles, car rentals, buses, long distance vans, light rail and taxis are all available from the airport.
Manhattan Beach is a short 30-minute drive from LAX. The beach provides plenty of activities including indoor and outdoor volleyball, surfing and sunbathing opportunities. If you're driving during rush hour, take Imperial Highway to avoid the traffic.
Once you arrive, there are plenty of nearby options for food, manicures, shopping and grocery stores right off Sepulveda Boulevard. Other beaches that are relatively easy to get to include Santa Monica, Hermosa Beach and Marina del Rey.
The flight from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to LAX is approximately three and a half hours. For your convenience, pick up your rental car at the airport, and consider securing a vehicle outfitted with GPS, in order to reduce the amount of time you spend looking for attractions, restaurants and entertainment.
